What is CS2 DMA for dma?
CS2 DMA is a hardware cheat for Counter-Strike 2, run from a second PC through a DMA card. Nothing runs on the gaming machine, which matters more on CS2 than on most titles.
CS2 is where third-party anti-cheats live. VAC is the least of it — FACEIT and ESEA run kernel-level clients of their own, and those are considerably more aggressive than Valve's. A setup with no software on the gaming PC is the response to that.
Round awareness
- Player ESP with distance, health and weapon, through smoke and walls
- Utility tracking — knowing where nades and molotovs have landed shapes a retake more than aim does
- Bomb and defuser state
- Sound-source and radar awareness for reading rotations
Aim assistance
- Requires a KMBox or MAKCU for physical input
- Very conservative defaults — CS2's audience is the most practised at spotting an aimbot of any game in this catalogue
- Visibility checks left on
Detection risk and anti-cheat
The reason to consider DMA on CS2 is the third-party clients. FACEIT and ESEA run their own kernel-level anti-cheat, and a hardware setup puts nothing on the machine for either to inspect.
What it does not address is the community. CS2 players watch demos as a matter of routine, and a demo review is a detection method no PCIe firmware touches. Inventories also make CS2 accounts unusually expensive to lose.
DMA answers exactly one question — is there cheat software on this PC — and no others. Killcams, replays, spectators, reports, behavioural detection and server admins all work against you exactly as well as they would against a $5 external.
Anti-cheats are working on the hardware layer. BattlEye have said publicly they are investigating hardware-level detection, and Ricochet already fingerprints PCIe topology at launch and flags unusual configurations for review. Treat DMA as harder to detect, not undetectable.
Live detection status for every product is on the status page, and how detection actually works is covered in our anti-cheat explainer.
System requirements
- A DMA card (35T, 75T or 100T FPGA) in a free PCIe x1 slot on the gaming PC
- A second PC to run the software — 4+ cores with AVX2 and 8GB RAM minimum
- Custom firmware for your card; stock firmware with default PCIe vendor IDs is detected immediately
- A BIOS that allows IOMMU / VT-d to be disabled
- A USB-C cable between card and second PC
- A KMBox or MAKCU if you want aim assistance — the second PC cannot move your mouse on its own
- A fuser if you want the overlay on one monitor rather than a second screen
When to choose CS2 DMA
- You already own or are building a DMA setup
- You play on platforms running their own kernel-level anti-cheat
- Your account carries an inventory you would not want to lose
When something else is the better buy
- Predator CS2 and Arcane CS2 are the software builds — much cheaper, and sufficient for matchmaking where VAC is the only thing watching.
- If you only play Valve matchmaking, the hardware premium is very hard to justify.
- For an account with a valuable inventory, weigh the cost of the setup against what the inventory would cost to rebuild — that comparison is the whole decision.
Frequently asked questions
Does DMA work against FACEIT and ESEA?
It removes what their kernel-level clients scan for on your PC, which is the reason people use it on CS2. It does nothing about demo review, which is how a great many CS2 bans actually happen.
Do I need a DMA card?
Yes. This is software for a DMA setup — the card, second PC and custom firmware are prerequisites, not extras.
Is ESP enough on CS2?
It is the safer configuration by a wide margin. CS2 players review demos routinely and are unusually good at spotting an aimbot, so information features carry far less risk.
Will my inventory be lost?
A ban takes the account and everything on it. That is precisely why some CS2 players justify hardware costs that would make no sense elsewhere.
