What is Volk Apex DMA for dma?
Volk Apex DMA is a hardware cheat for Apex Legends, run from a second PC through a DMA card. There is no process or driver on the gaming machine for EAC to find.
Apex is a movement game with fast time-to-kill and third-partying as its defining feature. That makes squad-position information — who else is rotating into a fight already in progress — worth more than raw aim.
Squad awareness
- Player ESP with distance, health and shield tier, so you can read whether a squad is worth pushing
- Third-party warning — the squad that beats you is usually the one you never saw
- Loot ESP by rarity and ammo type
- Ring and rotation awareness
Aim assistance
- Requires a KMBox or MAKCU for physical mouse input
- Recoil compensation per weapon, which is where most of the mechanical value sits in Apex
- Smoothing and visibility checks, conservative by default
Detection risk and anti-cheat
Apex has an active spectating and reporting culture, and clips travel. A DMA setup removes what EAC scans for and removes nothing about being clipped.
Ranked progression is the usual reason people protect an Apex account, and it is worth weighing that against the cost of a full hardware setup before buying.
DMA answers exactly one question — is there cheat software on this PC — and no others. Killcams, replays, spectators, reports, behavioural detection and server admins all work against you exactly as well as they would against a $5 external.
Anti-cheats are working on the hardware layer. BattlEye have said publicly they are investigating hardware-level detection, and Ricochet already fingerprints PCIe topology at launch and flags unusual configurations for review. Treat DMA as harder to detect, not undetectable.
Live detection status for every product is on the status page, and how detection actually works is covered in our anti-cheat explainer.
System requirements
- A DMA card (35T, 75T or 100T FPGA) in a free PCIe x1 slot on the gaming PC
- A second PC to run the software — 4+ cores with AVX2 and 8GB RAM minimum
- Custom firmware for your card; stock firmware with default PCIe vendor IDs is detected immediately
- A BIOS that allows IOMMU / VT-d to be disabled
- A USB-C cable between card and second PC
- A KMBox or MAKCU if you want aim assistance — the second PC cannot move your mouse on its own
- A fuser if you want the overlay on one monitor rather than a second screen
When to choose Volk Apex DMA
- You already own or are building a DMA setup
- You play ranked on an account with progression worth protecting
- You want third-party awareness more than aim assistance
When something else is the better buy
- Ancient Apex, Arcane Apex and the other software builds cover similar information without any hardware at all.
- Vector (ESP ONLY) is the option if you want information and nothing that a spectator could clip.
- Volk Rust DMA is the same developer's Rust product if you play both — worth knowing they exist as a pair.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a second PC?
Yes, always. There is no single-PC DMA setup — the whole point is that the software runs on hardware the anti-cheat cannot scan.
Is DMA overkill for Apex?
For most players, yes. Apex accounts are free to replace, so unless yours carries ranked progression or purchases you would not want to redo, a software build on a spare account is better value.
Does it help with recoil?
Recoil compensation is where most of the mechanical value sits in Apex, but it needs a KMBox or MAKCU — the second PC cannot move your mouse on its own.
Will clips get me banned?
They can. Reports from clips are a normal route to enforcement and no hardware changes what a spectator sees.
