How to Find Garrisons in Hell Let Loose

Almost every Hell Let Loose match is decided by garrisons, and almost nobody is systematically good at finding them. Here is what actually works — starting with the methods that need nothing but attention.

Why garrisons decide the match

A garrison is an enemy infantry spawn placed by an officer, usually hidden in a treeline, behind a building, or in whatever fold of terrain looked unremarkable. Enemies spawn on it in numbers.

Capture the objective while one stands nearby and the enemy is back on top of you within thirty seconds, indefinitely. Destroy it first and the same objective often falls with barely a fight.

That asymmetry is the whole game. Teams that lose Hell Let Loose matches are usually not losing gunfights — they are attacking into an infinite respawn they never located.

Read the spawn flow

The most reliable free method is watching where enemies come from, repeatedly. Not one player — the pattern. If three separate contacts over two minutes all approach from the same treeline at the same angle, the garrison is behind it, usually within a hundred metres.

Pay attention to how quickly they come back. Enemies reappearing on the objective within about thirty seconds of dying are spawning close. A ninety-second gap means the nearest spawn is much further out and the point is more takeable than it feels.

Watch the direction people are facing when they arrive. A player who runs in already looking toward you came from a spawn on that axis; one who arrives disoriented has run a long way.

Use the map more aggressively than you probably do

Enemy garrisons are placed to cover objectives, and there are only so many sensible positions. Cover, a road for supply trucks, and enough distance to survive artillery — that combination narrows the candidates on any map to a handful.

Learn where your own team habitually places theirs on each map, then look at the mirrored positions. Both teams solve the same terrain problem the same way far more often than either would admit.

Watch for supply trucks. A garrison needs supplies dropped near it, so a truck driving away from the front toward nothing in particular has almost certainly just built one.

The recon role exists for exactly this

A recon squad's job is not kills. It is walking wide around a flank, finding what the rest of the team cannot see, and reporting it — and a competent recon pair is worth more than an extra infantry squad most matches.

Go wide. Garrisons sit behind the fighting, so the answer is almost never forward. Circle out two hundred metres past the flank and look back toward the objective from an angle nobody is watching.

Mark what you find, and say it out loud. A garrison nobody knows about is worth nothing, and command chat exists for exactly this.

Bring an engineer or someone with satchels if you can, or call artillery onto the grid. Finding it is half the job; removing it is the other half.

Where information tooling fits

Everything above works and costs nothing but patience. It is also slow, unreliable, and dependent on your teammates doing their part — which is why garrison ESP is the feature people buy Hell Let Loose products for.

It converts the hardest and most luck-dependent job in the game into something you simply know. That is a genuine advantage and there is no point pretending otherwise.

It also carries a specific risk on this game. Hell Let Loose runs Easy Anti-Cheat, but the thing that actually catches people is community server admins watching behaviour. A team whose garrisons keep dying within a minute of being placed notices, and says so.

If you go that route, the rule is delay. Act on what you know the way a recon player who found it legitimately would — a few minutes later, from a plausible direction, and called to your squad rather than soloed.

Frequently asked questions

How far apart can garrisons be placed?

They require a minimum distance from other friendly garrisons and proximity to supplies, which is why the sensible positions on any given map are limited. Learning those positions is most of the skill.

What is the fastest way to find one without tooling?

Watch where enemies repeatedly come from over a couple of minutes, then flank wide — two hundred metres past the fighting — and look back toward the objective from an angle nobody is covering.

Does destroying a garrison actually win the objective?

Frequently, yes. Without a nearby spawn the defenders have to run back, which turns an unwinnable point into a normal fight.

Is garrison ESP detectable?

It is software, so anti-cheat detection is possible like anything else. The more common way people are caught on this game is an admin noticing that garrisons keep being found within a minute of being placed.
